This week, the House Judiciary Committee is voting on three radical gun control proposals. I am demanding that you kill each and every one of them. You cannot allow any of these bills to pass.

The first bill is the Keep Americans Safe Act. Don't fall for the title. This bill would turn tens of millions of Americans into felons simply because they possess firearm magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. There is no grandfather provision. Gun owners would be required to surrender or destroy their lawfully-acquired property, or else face prison time.

Just to put it in perspective. Lewis and Clark went on their expedition with a rifle that held 20 rounds in its magazine. For well over a century, Americans have used these standard-capacity magazines to defend themselves and their families. And this one piece of legislation would turn them all into felons.

The bill admits that reducing magazine capacity will cost lives. That is why there is an exception in the bill for law enforcement officers: reduced magazine capacity makes it harder for law-abiding gun owners to defend themselves. You MUST stop this legislation from passing.

The next bill is the Disarm Hate Act. This legislation would revoke Americans' 2nd Amendment rights if they are convicted of non-violent misdemeanor hate crimes. Violent hate crimes like rape, murder, assault, and arson are already prosecuted as felonies, which automatically leads to disarmament. But this bill would disarm people who are convicted of violating hate speech laws.

The Supreme Court was clear on this. There is no such thing as "Hate Speech." The only speech that government can ban is speech designed to incite imminent violence. And yet, the Disarm Hate Act would ignore this Supreme Court precedent and disarm Americans based on their "hate speech." This proposal is flagrantly unconstitutional and you must shoot it down now!

The last bill on the agenda this week is the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act. Like the previous bill, this legislation creates a new class of prohibited person. Except for the first time ever, the government would have the power to disarm innocent Americans.

That is what Red Flag laws do. They allow prosecutors to disarm people without even having to charge them with a crime. Instead of proving someone guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, prosecutors can seek confiscation orders simply by convincing a judge that there is at least a 51% chance that someone is dangerous.

Red Flag laws literally target innocent Americans. Not only is this a clear violation of the 2nd Amendment, but it is a flagrantly unconstitutional assault on the right to due process. Expanding the government's firearm confiscation powers is NOT a compromise.

When you arrived in Washington, you swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. That includes the right to keep and bear arms and the right to due process. You don't get to pick and choose which parts of the Constitution you want to defend. If you will not honor your oath, then you are an enemy of the Constitution.

I don't care who you are. All Congressional oath breakers will be removed from office. Period.
