This month, the Trump administration implemented its Protect Life rule. Under the new regulation, Federal Title X are barred from going to any organization that refers for or performs abortions.

This is common sense. Federal law bans Federal funds from paying for abortion procedures. It is only reasonable to prevent the funds from propping up abortion providers.

In the past week, the first funding was diverted towards pro-life women's health clinics. Planned Parenthood alone lost access to $33 million in this funding disbursement.

The abortion industry tried to defeat this regulation in court, but the 9th Circuit upheld the legality of the Protect Life rule. So, Planned Parenthood has dispatched its lobbyists to Washington DC to convince you to give them their funding back.

You CANNOT allow that to happen.

Tucked away in the Health and Human Services Appropriations Act is a single sentence that would abolish Trump's Protect Life rule and restore Federal funds for abortion providers.

It reads that, "the Secretary shall carry out section 1001 of the PHS Act solely in accordance with any regulations or other conditions or instructions established by the Secretary pursuant to the authority under section 1006 of the PHS Act that applied as of January 18, 2017, to grants and contracts awarded under section 1001 of the PHS Act..."

This one sentence would revert back to the Title X regulations that were in place on January 18, 2017. In other words, the Trump administration would be forced to adopt the Obama administration's abortion policies.

This is yet another example of how your colleagues are desperately trying to undo the 2016 election...

This bill is coming up for a vote. I don't care what it takes, you must stop this amendment from surviving and making its way into the final spending package.
