Portland, Oregon has suffered five straight weeks of nightly riots. The local police have been ordered to stand down, giving the lawless "protesters" free reign of the city.

But the minute they attacked a federal court house, President Trump had the power to send federal law enforcement in. These officers -- a combination of US Marshals and Border Patrol agents -- are now arresting the "protesters" who commit federal crimes.

The Left is FURIOUS and rallying to pull the plug on Trump's operation. Nancy Pelosi is promising to defund the operation when Congress begins considering the DHS spending bill this week. And she already has Republicans offering to help her do it...

President Trump issued a simple warning weeks ago: If cities and states prove unwilling or unable to restore order, he will have no choice but to use Federal officials to put an end to the rioting plaguing American cities.

Most cities and jurisdictions heeded the warning. Seattle Police raided the CHAZ/CHOP when they learned Trump was sending in his officers to do it.

But in Portland, Oregon, the Mayor and Governor have taken a different approach. Instead of enforcing the law and suppressing the riots, they have allowed them to go on for 5 straight weeks. Police have actually been ordered to stand down in many instances and blocked from arresting rioters who were clearly breaking the law.

The riots entered a new stage, however, when the rioters began targeting a federal courthouse. The mob graffitied the building, broke windows, and even tossed lit fireworks into the federal building. Last week, President Trump decided he'd had enough. Working with the Department of Homeland Security, he ordered federal law enforcement officers into the city to enforce the law.

All this week, a combination of US Marshals and Border Patrol agents have been arresting rioters who targeted the building or federal employees. For the first time, the violent rioters are actually going to be held accountable for their actions.

The Mayor of Portland ordered the federal officers to stay inside their buildings. The mob took that cue and tried to literally barricade the officers inside the building so they couldn't get out, leaving the feds no choice but to use force.

Predictably, your Democrat colleagues are furious. They are now conspiring to pull the plug on Trump's operation by adding an amendment to the upcoming DHS and Justice appropriations bills.

Just like they used the power of the purse to restrict Border Patrol, now they want to do the same to give back power to the rioters and the looters.

This is insane. There has been rioting and looting in Portland for five straight weeks, and the only time the Democrats ever expressed outrage was when President Trump started arresting the rioters and looters..

When state and local law enforcement fails to keep their communities safe, the federal government is duty-bound to intervene.

You cannot allow Nancy Pelosi's amendment to pass. Under no circumstance can you pass any appropriation bill that restricts the federal government's ability to deploy crowd control measures or protect federal property or employees.
