Disgusting: Pelosi & McConnell Preparing to Override Trump's Vetoes

Last night, the GOP demanded that Trump sign their so-called "stimulus bill." They claimed that if Trump refused, millions of Americans would suffer when unemployment benefits expired at midnight. Like Pelosi, the GOP tried to use Americans' pain as leverage to force Trump to sign a terrible bill.

The President refused, again demanding that Congress (1) cut out the ridiculous foreign aid spending to foreign countries and (2) increase the relief funding given to Americans and American small businesses. Only then will Trump sign the bill.

Amazingly, instead of complying, the GOP is now gearing up to override Trump's veto. They are actually teaming up with Democrats to make sure that Americans get next-to-nothing and foreign countries get everything!

History will remember the passage of H.R. 133 as one of the great betrayals in American history. After spending 9 months debating the merits of sending Americans a second round of relief checks (with members of Congress collecting over $130,000 in salary over that time period), you and your colleagues finally came to a compromise that - surprising noone - found another way to put the needs of foreign countries ahead of our own.

H.R. 133 gives Americans a measly $600 while simultaneously funnelling tens of billions overseas to help foreign countries.

I know this must seem foreign to you, but when you were tasked with passing a stimulus bill, you were supposed to focus on stimulating the American economy. When you were instructed to write a bill to help people who were struggling to make ends meet, you were supposed to focus on helping Americans (aka your constituents).

You claim that there isn't enough money to give Americans any more than $600, but in the same so-called "stimulus bill," you have agreed to send $85.5 million to Cambodia, $135 million to Burma, $453 million to Ukraine, $130 million to Nepal, $500 million to Israel, $1.3 billion to Egypt, $700 million to Sudan, and $1.5 billion to the Asia Reassurance Initiative.

You will send $3 million to support Hong Kong's freedom movement and $10 million will go towards funding Pakistani Gender Studies Programs. $179 will go towards building Africa's electric grid and $15 million will help Sri Lanka repair one of their boats. $410 million will go to the Peace Corps. $3.4 billion will go towards "Migration and Refugee Assistance."

But your colleagues say that there isn't enough money to give Americans more than $600 in relief. You did, however, find the money to give racehorse owners a new tax break in the bill, though...
Again, history will remember this as one of the great low-points in the history of the United States Congress. At a time when millions of Americans were struggling, you chose to prioritize the needs of foreign countries instead...

I understand that the first time you voted on this bill, you had no idea what was in it. Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell only gave you two hours to read and debate the legislation before you were forced to vote on it. I understand that you must have done what you thought was right at the time.
But you can't claim ignorance as an excuse anymore. Now that you know what is in the bill, you need to stop it from becoming law.

President Trump has issued a very simple demand. He will not allow a stimulus bill to become law unless you (1) cut out the ridiculous foreign aid spending to foreign countries and (2) increase the relief funding given to Americans and American small businesses.

That shouldn't be controversial. You were elected to serve the American people, after all. If you want to prioritize helping people living in foreign countries, then this obviously isn't the job for you...

And yet, your colleagues are preparing to override Trump's veto. They are refusing to cut even a cent of foreign aid or add a cent to the stimulus checks sent out to Americans.

You need to think long and hard about this. The American people now know what is in the bill. They know that you voted to give them scraps while sending tens of billions of dollars overseas to help other countries.

Any member of Congress who votes to put the wants of foreigners ahead of the needs of Americans will be removed from office. Yes, that is a threat and a promise.
