If they can't afford the tax, then they would have to surrender their guns/magazines or render them inoperable.

Americans who can afford the new tax would have their names added to a federal registry, making it easier to confiscate their firearms at a later date.

Your colleagues have begun meeting behind closed doors on a gun control proposal that would strip Americans of their right to keep and bear arm.

The Biden Gun Ban would target Americans who own large capacity magazines and semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols by levying a retroactive $200 onto each item.

Just like the National Firearms Act of 1934, the goal of the Biden Gun Ban is to make firearm ownership too expensive for the average American.

Not only would the bill ban anyone from purchasing these banned guns and magazines, but if someone already owns them, they would have to pay the tax in order to continue owning them. Americans who cannot afford to pay this tax would be forced to surrender, destroy, alter, or render the devices inoperable.

These semi-automatic firearms are the most commonly owned firearms in America. They are used every day for lawful purposes such as self defense, target shooting, and hunting. They are also, by definition, useful for militia service. It is also common for people to own multiple magazines per gun. If Biden's Gun Ban passes, even a modest gun collection could rack up a tax bill in the thousands or tens of thousands of dollars.

Gun owners who find a way to pay this tax bill would then be added to a federal registry. World history shows that every time a firearm registry is created, it is eventually used to facilitate confiscation policies...

Just so we are clear, this is not a tax on future firearm purchases, like the Pittman-Robertson Act. The Biden Gun Ban would retroactively tax guns and magazines, even if they have been legally owned for years or decades.

A right is not a right if Americans need to pay exorbitant taxes in order to continue exercising it.

A right is not a right if it is reclassified as a "privilege."

The Supreme Court prohibited the government from banning firearms that are "in common use at the time." (Heller v DC) The Supreme Court also has prohibited the government from banning firearms that would be useful for militia service (Miller v US). The Biden Gun Ban would do both.

Your colleagues are already talking about using the budget reconciliation process to sidestep the 60-vote threshold in the Senate. They are so eager to disarm the American people, they are willing to abandon precedent and break all the rules to do it.

You swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. That includes the 2nd Amendment. If you are unable or unwilling to honor that oath, then you must be removed...
