Last night, the Democrat-controlled January 6th Witch Hunt voted to hold Steve Bannon in criminal contempt for refusing to comply with their unlawful and unconstitutional subpoena. Now, the vote will go to the full Congress.

The Left wants to destroy the Conservative movement. They want to criminalize protesting. They want to make you too afraid to stand up to their tyranny.

There was no "insurrection" on January 6th. A few thousand protesters wandered through statuary hall for a couple of hours, took some photographs, and then left.

Police intentionally moved barricades to give people access to the Capitol, unlocked the electromagnetic locks, and literally even held the doors open so people could walk inside. There are even people who have been charged because they walked into the Capitol on January 6th to use the restroom.

In the House, Nancy Pelosi has created a "commission" to destroy all those who participated in the peaceful protests that day. They have issued subpoenas, without any legitimate legislative purpose, designed to entrap conservatives or force them into compromising positions.

Steve Bannon has received one of those overreaching subpoenas and he responded that all communications between he and the President were privileged. Additionally, any involvement he had with the peaceful protests that day was protected 1st Amendment activity that the Congress has no constitutional authority to investigate.

Instead of challenging these privilege assertions, your Democrat colleagues decided to vote to hold Bannon in criminal contempt. For the crime of challenging the legality and constitutionality of a subpoena, they now want to throw him in jail.

This contempt resolution will now go to a full vote. I implore you to vote NO.

Joe Biden has already ordered the DOJ to go after Bannon and others involved in the January 6th protests. The White House is not even pretending that these investigations will be independent. The President issued an order.

It will not stop here. Notice that no one in Congress is investigating the environmental activists who barged their way into the Interior Department last week, injuring a police officer in the process. No one is calling that an insurrection or demanding that participants' lives be ruined.

No, only Conservatives are being targeted. If you allow this contempt resolution to pass, this will only get worse.

Instead, you must vote to shut down this sham witch hunt before it can do any more damage to this nation. Abraham Lincoln famously said that a house divided cannot stand.

This committee is designed to punish the majority party's political opponents. It is a shameful abuse of power and must be stopped immediately... or else!
