[Sen./Rep.] [FIRST NAME] [LAST NAME]
Washington, DC
Dear [Sen./Rep.] [LAST NAME]:
I am writing to express my utter dismay and fury regarding the deplorable treatment of individuals involved in the January 6th protests. The current state of affairs demands an immediate and robust response from Congress to rectify the blatant injustice and disregard for the rights of these individuals. The government's response to January 6th is nothing short of a disgrace, unveiling an undeniable truth: those who participated in the protests were engaged in a peaceful demonstration. Shockingly, these individuals have since become targets of wrongful harassment, baseless charges, and the stripping away of their fundamental rights—all while attempting to address their grievances. The government's alleged fabrication and deletion of evidence, coupled with the manipulation of the narrative to feign innocence, is an affront to justice. Since the three-year anniversary of January 6th, distressing developments have emerged regarding the treatment of individuals in the DC gulags. The J6 committee is accused of fabricating and deleting evidence, and protestors are still unjustly held as political prisoners. In a recent and inhumane episode, during a severe cold front with temperatures plummeting below zero, protestors in the DC gulag endured a prolonged heating system outage. Chris, a political prisoner, shared a harrowing message during this period: "We have had no heat or hot water for 48 hours. The inside temperature is probably about 55 degrees (no exaggeration). The guards are wearing hoodies, jackets, and wool winter hats in the c3a pod. No extra blankets have been distributed." I implore you to broadcast this message widely—to local news, online platforms, and directly to Congress and the Marshals. This situation is an egregious violation of the Eighth Amendment, which explicitly prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. The callousness of a heating system outage with temperatures hovering around 55 degrees is not just cruel but outright degrading. The failure to provide basic necessities such as blankets and jackets only exacerbates the abuse endured by these individuals. Adding insult to injury, the J6 committee conveniently deleted 117 encrypted files just before the GOP assumed the majority in the House of Representatives. These files, crucial for exonerating individuals like Trump from claims of insurrection, were miraculously recovered by a forensic team. This demands an immediate and thorough investigation by Congress into the deletion, examination of those responsible, and holding them accountable for their blatant removal of crucial documents and evidence. Congress cannot turn a blind eye to these severe issues surrounding January 6th. There must be an immediate acknowledgment of the gross violation of rights suffered by J6 political prisoners. Simultaneously, a comprehensive investigation is imperative to hold the officers at the DC gulags accountable for their failure to provide prisoners with adequate blankets and clothing. I demand that Congress work swiftly to release all J6 political prisoners, present any evidence supporting their innocence, and ensure justice prevails. It is absolutely crucial for Congress to release the J6 prisoners, review the 117 encrypted files, and expeditiously restore justice and liberty to our nation. Your urgent attention to this matter is expected, and I trust that you will take robust and decisive action to address these infuriating and pressing concerns.
Sincerely,
[SIGNATURE]
